Development timeline

The timeline continues downward as DPPora and EU requirements evolve.
Upcoming
European Union product policy pipeline
EU development

Further ESPR product groups enter the EU pipeline

The Commission's indicative working plan schedules textiles, tyres and aluminium for 2027, furniture for 2028, and mattresses and ICT products for 2029.

DPPora response

DPPora will maintain versioned category workspaces and will treat requirements as binding only when the relevant product-specific delegated acts are adopted.

DPP service-provider framework expected

The Commission's indicative timeline anticipates delegated acts defining DPP service-provider requirements and eligibility, followed by corresponding Registry functionality.

DPPora response

DPPora will monitor the adopted framework and add authorised Registry submission only when the Commission releases the legal and technical mechanism. No production provider-enrolment route is currently available.

EU development

Battery passports become mandatory

EV batteries, LMT batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the EU market must have a battery passport.

DPPora response

DPPora is preparing category-specific validation, Registry integration and lifecycle data handling ahead of the legal application date.

Upcoming
DPPora battery passport compliance release
DPPora

Battery Passport compliance release planned

DPPora plans to complete its battery-focused compliance release before the first legal application date.

DPPora response

The release gate covers the versioned battery schema, EV, LMT and industrial-over-2-kWh eligibility, evidence, validation, dynamic lifecycle records and Registry-controlled publication.

Upcoming
Iron and steel
EU development

Iron and steel requirements expected

The Commission currently expects the ESPR delegated act for iron and steel during Q4 2026. The timing remains indicative until adoption.

DPPora response

DPPora maintains the category as a versioned working-plan schema and will update it only against an adopted act.

Upcoming
DPPora

Standards-conformance audit planned

DPPora will audit QR resolution and other data carriers, identifiers, APIs, data persistence and interoperability against the six cited DPP standards.

DPPora response

Findings will become validation, API, storage and interface updates. Access-control and security components will remain modular pending citation of the remaining two standards.

Upcoming
DPPora

Battery production-readiness programme

DPPora will extend localized forms, CSV imports, validation, evidence uploads and APIs across the 71-point battery catalogue. The battery catalogue contains 71 data points. Required fields depend on the battery type; not all 71 are required for every passport.

DPPora response

The programme will enforce mandatory, optional, conditional, deferred and duplicate or not-displayed states, while separating immutable manufacturing data from dynamic lifecycle and condition records.

Verified by GS1 lookup integrated into the customer portal

Look up any GTIN and automatically populate drafts with available GS1 product identity and photos. GS1 source fields remain read-only. Publishing requires a matching GS1 licence approved by DPPora. Submit licence evidence in Company profile. Import limits and passport allowances apply.

iPhone and Android apps launched

DPPora's companion apps for iPhone and Android are now available, extending access to product-passport workspaces on mobile.

Direct Shopify and Pimcore integrations implemented

CSV and Excel imports with field mapping, plus direct Shopify and Pimcore Datahub connections, are available on every plan, including Free. Import limits and passport publishing allowances apply.

DPPora

Customer read/write API implemented

Professional and higher plans can create and update their own products and passport drafts through organisation-scoped API keys. API access is restricted to the key's organisation; draft updates do not publish passports.

Remaining DPP security standards expected

The Commission timetable anticipates decisions covering the remaining access-rights, security, authentication and integrity standards.

DPPora response

DPPora keeps access control and authentication modular until the official references are published.

Battery passport regulatory data
DPPora

Battery data-point catalogue aligned with Commission guidance v2.0

DPPora adopted a versioned catalogue of all 71 battery-passport data points, classifying mandatory, optional, conditional, deferred and duplicate or not-displayed states. The battery catalogue contains 71 data points. Required fields depend on the battery type; not all 71 are required for every passport.

DPPora response

The catalogue distinguishes EV, LMT and industrial batteries above 2 kWh, separates manufacturing and lifecycle data, and records the source provision for every data point.

Independent listing

Independent software profiles established

DPPora established product pages across G2, Capterra, SaaSHub and SourceForge.

DPPora response

These directory pages improve independent discovery and do not represent regulatory approval or endorsement by the platforms.

Completed
Microsoft Azure
Infrastructure

Microsoft Azure translation infrastructure connected

DPPora connected its translation service to Microsoft Azure to support reliable multilingual passport and portal content.

DPPora response

Translation remains separated from authoritative source data so regulated values and identifiers are never altered.

Google and Apple sign-in introduced

DPPora added Google and Sign in with Apple as secure alternatives to email authentication.

DPPora response

The new options reduce registration friction while preserving DPPora organisation and account controls.

Completed
European Union registry testing
DPPora

DPPora enrolled in the EU DPP Registry testing environment

DPPora enrolled in the Commission's mock Registry environment to follow registration workflows and emerging technical requirements.

DPPora response

This is testing-environment enrolment, not EU certification, endorsement or production Registry enrolment.

Completed
Supabase infrastructure in Europe
Infrastructure

European Supabase infrastructure established

DPPora configured its production Supabase project in a European region for database, authentication and file-storage services.

DPPora response

Keeping core application services in Europe supports DPPora’s security, resilience and data-governance architecture. Regional hosting does not by itself constitute certification or complete regulatory compliance.

EU development

Commission publishes battery guidance version 2.0

The guidance classifies 71 data points as mandatory, optional, conditional, deferred, duplicated or not applicable for EV, LMT and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. The battery catalogue contains 71 data points. Required fields depend on the battery type; not all 71 are required for every passport.

DPPora response

DPPora reviewed the new applicability rules and created a versioned battery data-point catalogue.
